Rope access back-up device performance on tensioned lines

Rope access back-up device performance on tensioned lines – Test report published by BARA (Danish Rope Access Authority) showing how a number of the back-ups currently in use in rope access perform on tensioned lines (such as would be the case if rescuing a suspended rope access casualty from ground upwards). The results show that some devices slip when the tail of the rope underneath the back-up device is loaded. Note that this test is not one of the standard tests for a rope access back-up device.
