Petzl Energy Absorbers

News

A year ago, the Petzl L57 Absorbica energy absorber was discontinued and replaced with the Petzl ASAP SORBER AXESS (L071CA00). So, here’s a chance to catch up on the current range of Petzl energy absorbers and the applications for each one; new and old.

Petzl ASAP SORBER AXESS – L071CA00

This is designed to connect to the Petzl ASAP (B71AAA) and Petzl ASAP-LOCK (B071BA00). It replaces the L57 Petzl Absorbica; which was discontinued in March 2018.

  • Can be used in a two-person rescue situation – up to 250kg
  • Designed for users weighing between 50kg and 130kg (thanks to the innovative progressive tearing of the energy absorber)
  • The fabric pouch helps protect against abrasion and contaminants and enables easy inspection of the energy absorbing webbing
  • Length = 40cm
  • Includes the:

– Petzl STRING, which help to hold the connectors in position and also helps to protect the webbing

– Petzl CAPTIV (M093AA00) positioning bars, which help to keep the karabiners correctly orientated with the energy absorber
